Subaru Australia is thrilled to officially hand over the keys to a restored 1992 Subaru Brumby to the lucky winner of its latest Australian Road Safety Foundation (ARSF) raffle.
Congratulations to the winner, Phill from Preston, Victoria, who is set to turn heads on the road when driving around one of the most adored classic Subaru vehicles in Australia!
Selectively upgraded and restored by Marty and Moog from Mighty Car Mods, the iconic Subaru Brumby underwent a massive makeover, featuring upgrades such as new paint, engine, transmission, running gear, brakes, tyres, and interior to name a few.
The rejuvenated 1992 Brumby now wears eye-catching Autumn Green Metallic paint – a favourite of current generation Forester and Outback owners – and is equipped with a 2001 Forester five-speed dual range gearbox and EJ20 SOHC engine.
Upon receiving the keys to his newfound treasure, Phill said: “A massive thank you to the team at Mighty Car Mods for their amazing work bringing this Ute back to life. Thank you to the team at Subaru Australia for all your work behind the scenes. And thank you to the Australian Road Safety Foundation for making this possible.
"I cannot wait to add my chapters to the story of this iconic Ute, and I look forward to all the adventures I’ll be having in it in the future."
In an extraordinary display of generosity, this raffle alone raised a massive $312,500 for the ARSF, contributing to the grand total of over one million dollars Subaru Australia has helped raise for the ARSF since the partnership began in 2020, enabling the non-profit to continue delivering vital road safety education initiatives within the community.
General Manager at Subaru Australia, Scott Lawrence, commented: “Firstly, congratulations to Phill for becoming the new owner of the iconic Brumby! We wish you countless happy adventures with your new Subaru in the years ahead.
“Beyond offering the chance to win a restored Brumby, this raffle served a very important purpose, helping raise more necessary funds for the ARSF to continue delivering their ongoing road safety mission – a cause very close to the heart of Subaru. Thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket and contributed to supporting this cause.”
Subaru Australia’s enduring support of the ARSF underscores its steadfast commitment to road safety, aligning closely with Subaru Corporation’s Towards Zero Safety Vision, aimed at eliminating fatal road accidents in a Subaru vehicle by the year 2030*.
Trent Whitechurch, Subaru Australia National Marketing Manager, added: “What started as a small idea has evolved to helping raise over one million dollars in a short period of time, helping to drive awareness of road safety and the role that Subaru plays not just in the vehicles we sell, but the behaviours we encourage. Congratulations to Phill. This serves as a fitting tribute to our 50-year legacy in Australia, as we welcome another passionate owner to the Subaru family.”
In addition to the Subaru Brumby, Phill also takes home a $20,000 fuel voucher, to help fuel his adventures in his new Subaru!
